Archil Kochlamazashvili was elected as a new judicial member of the High Council of Justice with a majority of votes at the 36th Conference of Judges. He will take the office for 5 years.
At today’s conference, only one candidate was nominated for the vacant seat of a judicial member of the Council, who received the support of 295 delegates.
The seat became vacant after the council member Levan Nemsadze went to the Supreme Court.
The 15-member council is fully staffed. According to the amendment to the law, instead of nine judicial members, the council should consist of 12 judges and three non-judge members.
