Ambassador Carl Hartzell: EU supports Georgia's right to choose with whom to cooperate

“European Union supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its right to choose with whom to cooperate,” said EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell.

According to Hartzell, this is a fundamental principle of modern European security and what the EU stands for along with its other partners, the United States, NATO, and the OSCE.

Hartzell said that if Russia chooses the path of military intervention or destabilization, the EU will impose a severe cost.

The EU Ambassador also expressed hope that the current tense situation would be resolved as soon as possible.
