Airports Union Head vows not to admit sanctioned air companies' flying in Georgia

No sanctioned air company or airplane will fly in Georgia, said Irakli Karkashadze, Head of the Airports Union of Georgia.

Irakli Karkashadze remarked that no airport in Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi would serve a sanctioned airline.

“The air companies, to which the Civil Aviation Agency issued a flying permit, are not sanctioned either by the US or the European Union,” he said.

Answering the question on sanctioned individuals on board, Karkashadze said the Airports Union was not the agency to control the sanctioned persons. “There are other institutions, which control similar issues in our country,” he said.
