Irakli Karkashadze, the Director General of the United Airports of Georgia, extends his congratulations to all professionals in the aviation sector on the occasion of the International Civil Aviation Day.

“I congratulate all professionals employed in the aviation sector. These people create the history of Georgian civil aviation every day. This year is truly historic for the civil and commercial aviation of our country, which has completed 100 years,” Karkashadze stated.

He noted that despite facing challenges, the professionals in the aviation sector have worked tirelessly to ensure direct air access to numerous cities and countries.

“Today, we have direct air access to 67 cities in 35 countries from all three international airports of Georgia. Currently, 50 passenger airlines are operating in the Georgian market, and their contribution to the Georgian economy is huge,” he added.
