In connection with the tragic events that unfolded in Abkhazia on August 14, 1992, the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jincharadze, together with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Jemal Gamakharia, laid a wreath at the memorial to the heroes who perished for Georgia’s territorial integrity and paid tribute to their memory.

According to Giorgi Jincharadze’s statement, August 14 represents the gravest and most tragic day in Georgia’s recent history.

“August 14 stands as the gravest and most tragic day in Georgia’s recent history. I wish to pay tribute to our heroes, to the devoted fighters, and to all those who sacrificed themselves for our country, dedicating their lives to the freedom of our homeland. I am confident that through the Georgian government’s pragmatic, consistent, and peaceful policy, we shall undoubtedly achieve life in a united Georgia alongside our Abkhazian sisters and brothers,” declared Giorgi Jincharadze.
