Interior Minister: Around 26% of disaster area needs to be inspected
Approximately 26% of the disaster area still requires thorough examination, Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri, stated in the Shovi landslide zone.
“During our meeting, we outlined new directions for our efforts. About 26% of the affected area remains to be fully inspected. Unfortunately, we discovered an empty vehicle belonging to the missing individuals.
Once the current phase is complete, the focus will shift towards works to divert the river flow for further riverbed check. We will update you on these plans later,” the Minister explained.
