Health Ministry clarifies circumstances of military serviceman's death during disaster relief

The Ministry of Health released a statement regarding the passing of a military serviceman while engaged in disaster relief efforts in Shovi.

The Ministry explains that an emergency response brigade reached the scene within 10 minutes of receiving the notification (10:55 a.m. – 11:05 a.m.). However, despite their prompt response, the serviceman was found dead.

The Ministry refutes claims from certain media sources that suggest delayed or improper medical care, asserting that such assertions are untrue and intended to discredit the Emergency Situations Coordination and Emergency Assistance Center.

“The four ambulance brigades are consistently operating at various locations within the disaster-stricken area. Additionally, two ambulances are stationed near the primary healthcare centres in Oni and Ambrolauri,” the Ministry states.

The Emergency Situations Coordination and Assistance Center conveyed condolences and sympathy to the family members of the deceased serviceman.
