Venice Commission recommends abolishment of secret ballots in the High Council of Justice

According to one of the recommendations of the Venice Commission, conducting secret ballots in the High Council of Justice should be abolished.

”Information regarding the qualifications of candidates should be made public and the procedure should be based on the objective criteria on which each candidate is evaluated, producing a pool of candidates who satisfy these criteria. Within this pool, the candidates should be ranked according to the scores they have obtained during the evaluation procedure. This will allow a list of the best candidates to be presented to Parliament,” reads the report of the Venice Commission that was published today.
