Opposition MP Dekanoidze: EU recommendations should be fulfilled

Opposition MP Khatia Dekanoidze said that the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party sees no need to reform the High Council of Justice.

MP Dekanoidze believes that the recommendations of the Venice Commission should be fulfilled for the EU accession negotiations to open for Georgia in December.

“The Venice Commission recommended, and it does not matter what Khatia Dekanoidze tells the ruling party. Shalva Papuashvili (Parliament Speaker) said he believed that Georgia does not need to reform the High Council of Justice. If the Georgian Dream has any other model in its imagination, we are all in the parliament ready to hear and consider it. The Venice Commission recommendations put it clearly, so the recommendations should be fulfilled for the EU accession negotiations to open for Georgia in December,” she said.
