What is important there is a political will by the political leaders of this country to find a solution, to find a way to solve differences through using your democratic institutions. The US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, told journalists regarding the negotiations between the opposition and the ruling party over the October 31 parliamentary elections.

It is about the process of Georgia strengthening its democracy, the Ambassador added.

“This is showing that your political leaders can come together despite the political differences. And lead this country during the very difficult time when you have got pandemic when you’ve got an economic crisis when you’ve got a region that is changing in dynamics and Russia’s surrounding this country. It’s very important that the country find a solution now, soon, so they can continue building stable, prosperous democracy to work, creating jobs for Georgians who need it, and building your economy during the time, which is going to be a very difficult economic period. I think that the United States is a very strong supporter of Georgia, we are your best friend, and we want to do what we can to help you succeed as a democracy. That’s why we are involved here, that is why we will do whatever the parties want in order to help them find the solution. It is about building your democracy!” Kelly Degnan declared.
