Smoking in stadiums to be banned from January 1, 2020

Smoking in stadiums will officially be banned in Georgia from January 1, 2020. The ban applies to all stadiums which have the administration.

Smoking in stadiums will be subject to a fine of GEL 100. The fine will be double for repeated offences.

If the administration will not respond to the facts of smoking, they will be fined by GEL 500. The fine will be double for repeated offences.

Georgia’s parliament passed the relevant amendments to the Law on Tobacco Control in 2018.

Guguli Maghradze, an MP from the parliamentary majority group, initiated the aforesaid amendments.
