Service of Coordinator of Witness and Victim activated at MIA

The Service of Coordinator of Witness and Victim has been activated at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) within the framework of the regular reformation in direction of investigation activities.

According to MIA, support of a victim and a witness is important for effective investigation of a crime, and helpful communication is essential especially in case of victims of sexual harassment, trafficking and when it has to do with juveniles and people with limited physical capabilities.

Coordinators will initially work in pilot regime in Tbilisi, Rustavi and Marneuli. Six people will be employed on the positions. MIA has already announced a competition on a vacancy of coordinators. The post is available at www.hr.police.ge. Applications will be received till February 21.
