MP Mdinaradze calls on opposition to join consensus memorandum

The opposition parties who passed the 1% election threshold in the October 31 parliamentary elections could join the memorandum signed between the opposition Citizens and the ruling Georgian Dream parties, GD faction Chairman Mamuka Mdinaradze said on Friday.

Mdinaradze noted that the government is ready to meet with the opposition. MP added he is aware of many opposition MPs fear the speculations by the radical opposition wing.

“I urge the opposition members to get out of the United National Movement’s control and Mikheil Saakashvili’s bullies, and separate from Giga Bokeria’s virtual, ridiculous revolution,” MP stated.

MP added that the fifth round of talks depends on whether other opposition parties join the memorandum signed by the Georgian Dream and the Citizens today.

Earlier today, opposition MPs from Citizens party Aleko Elisashvili and Levan Ioseliani decided to enter parliament. Four former members of the Alliance of Patriots opposition party Avtandil Enukidze, Zaza Mikadze, Fridon Injia, and David Zilpimiani, halted the boycott and entered parliament earlier. Other opposition MPs refuse to take mandates as they believe elections were a fraud and demand snap elections.
