The IOC supports Georgia’s desire to adopt the 2030 Olympic Winter Games

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili met with First Vice President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Nawal El Moutawakel.

Nawal El Moutawakel expressed support to Georgia in perspective to host 2030 Winter Olympic Games. “Georgia is the country of heroes and is always represented by high-ranking sportsmen at the Olympic Games. We welcome your proposal and it is high time to express your wish,” she said.

IOC will send experts and a special group of advisors with purpose to study development of mountainous resorts and winter sports kinds in Georgia.

First Vice President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) Nawal El Moutawakel is being in Georgia with 2-day visit.

The meeting, which was held at Governmental Administration, was attended by Dimitri Kumsishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Shalva Tadumadze, Head of Governmental Administration, Aleksandre Onoprishvili, Director of Mountainous Resorts Development Company and members of IOC.
