The churches of David Gareji complex will be opened for Georgian clergy from tomorrow, – Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia summarized his recent visit to Azerbaijan at today’s Cabinet meeting.
As PM noted the Davit Gareji issue was discussed during the meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev.
“We could not sidestep such an important issue. We all remember that, unfortunately, there are certain sections of the Georgia-Azerbaijan border that have not yet been demarcated, this is our post-Soviet legacy, and this problem has not been resolved for 25 years. The President of Azerbaijan said that history and geography bind us together—yes, they do bind us, because geography does not divide friends and partners, but binds them together”, – Prime Minister said.
