Gia Volski may take up post of Parliament’s First Vice Speaker

Gia Volski, Leader of the Georgian parliamentary majority may take up the post of Parliament’s First Vice Speaker replacing Tamar Chugoshvili.

Volski currently serves as Vice Speaker in the parliament of the 9th Convocation. If Volski becomes First Vice Speaker of the parliament, he will retain the right to be the leader of the parliamentary majority at the same time.

Chugoshvili quit the position and the parliamentary seat following the parliament’s turning down of constitutional changes on November 14 prepared by the parliamentary majority regarding transformation onto the proportional system of elections for 2020 parliamentary polls in Georgia.

Chugoshvili plans to apply to the parliamentary bureau with the application to terminate her duties as First Vice Speaker.
