Georgian PM – I ask all partners to take Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili List into consideration

I ask all partners to take into consideration the Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili List that is expanding – Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at Mukhatgverdi Brothers Cemetery.

“One year passed after the murder of Archil Tatunashvili who became the victim of the occupational regime. Tatunashvili was tortured. He is the hero for Georgia so as his parents,” Bakhtadze said.

According to PM, the list is expanding, the investigation is still in progress and the Georgian side uses all platforms to inform the international community about the crime. “We should do our best to avoid similar tragedies in the future. The crime is the pain, which united entire Georgia. The Georgian statehood stands on heroes such as Archil Tatunashvili,” Bakhtadze said.

Archil Tatunashvili, Georgian soldier was detained by the occupational regime on February 22. He died in Tskhinvali hospital on February 23. A heart attack was named as the reason of death. Archil Tatunashvili’s body was repatriated from occupied Tskhinvali on March 20.

The examination of Tatunashvili’s body was conducted on March 20-21 at Levan Samkharauli National Forensic Bureau. The medical expertise concluded that the body had over 100 injuries. Archil Tatunashvili was buried at Mukhatgverdi Brothers’ Cemetery with military honor on March 24.

The Otkhozoria-Tatunashvili list includes names of 33 people who have committed different crimes against Georgian citizens across Georgia’s occupied territories since 1991. The list includes two persons Davit Ghurtsiyev and Alik Taboev charged for Archil Tatunashvili’s case and Rashid Kanjioghli, the person charged for the murder of Giga Otkhozoria.
