Georgian Airways explains why Afgan Mukhtarli was refused transportation to Georgia

Airzena Georgian Airways Air Company explains why Afgan Mukhtarli, Azerbaijani journalist has been rejected transportation to Georgia.

The statement released by the air company, says that Azerbaijan is not in the list of the so-called Green Countries and its citizens or permanent residents cannot enter Georgia without any problems.

“Airzena Georgian Airways could not serve Azerbaijani citizen Afghan Mukhtarli, who is not a citizen of Green Country,” reads the statement.

Archil Chopikashvili Lawyer of Afgan Mukhtarli, Azerbaijani journalist being in Germany, said that his defendant was not allowed to leave for Tbilisi by Georgian Airways Air Company and representatives of the Consulate.

The journalist planned to arrive in Tbilisi today. The lawyer called on responsible institutions for lifting up all artificial barriers.
