Georgia reports 17,530 coronavirus cases, 5,087 recoveries, 39 deaths

Georgia reported 17,530 coronavirus cases, 5,087 recoveries, and 39 deaths on January 26, the official figures show.

78,172 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 46,900, tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 31,272 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 9,487 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 1,990 cases, and the Adjara region with 1,958  cases.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 22,42%, while 19,58% in the past week.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 1,092,684 among them, 977,832 people recovered and 14,813 died.

There are 32 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,651 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 2,023 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 999 critical patients, 283 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 2,676,520 people got the coronavirus vaccine, with 7,661 in a day.
