Georgia reports 1,160 coronavirus cases, 1,302 recoveries, 20 deaths

Georgia has reported 1,160 coronavirus cases, 1,302 recoveries, and 20 deaths on Wednesday, the official figures show.

29,209 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 10,186 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 18,023 were PCR tests.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 588 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Imereti region with 113 cases and the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region with 110 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 333,601, among them, 313,651 people recovered and 4,519 died.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 4,11%, while 4,58% in the past 14 days.

There are 72 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 4,243 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 669 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 918 critical patients, 218 require mechanical ventilation.

As of May 19, 97,153 people got the coronavirus vaccine.
