Georgia kicks off manufacturing reusable face masks

Starting tomorrow, Georgia kicks off manufacturing surgical face masks, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava announced today.

The Minister noted that around 10 sewing companies are involved in the program, as well as several companies that bring in the necessary raw materials.

“We have enough supplies in place to manufacture the first batch of face masks which will be distributed to those who need it the most including those who have contact with high-risk patients,” Turnava said.

The Minister added that sewing companies will manufacturer reusable face mask which is in line with WHO’S recommendations as well as the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.
