European Union plans to finance major infrastructure projects in Georgia

The European Union is planning to finance major infrastructure projects across the Eastern Partnership countries (EaP), including Georgia. The amount of investment projects is about €13 billion.

A total of 18 projects will be financed under the Trans-European Transport Network  (TEN-T) Investment Action Plan in Georgia. Six projects are underway, two projects are planned to be completed by 2020, and 10 projects will be completed by 2030.

The following projects are planned to be implemented in Georgia:

Kutaisi Logistics center – €61.5 million;

Toad and Rail to the Anaklia deepwater port – €100 million;

The second phase of construction of Anaklia Port – €233 million;

Grigoleti-Poti Bridge – €25 million;

Construction of Grigoleti-Kobuleti highway – €101 million;

Construction of Batumi bypass road – €115 million;

Construction of Kutaisi airport cargo terminal – €61 million;

Construction of Chumateliti-Argveta highway – €1 billion;

Kumisi logistics center – €78.3 million;

Rustavi-Red Bridge highway – €115 million;

Algeti-Sadakhlo road – €90 million;

Sadakhlo Friendship bridge – €6 million.
