Honorable citizens of Tbilisi awarded at State Ceremonies Palace

Mayor of the Georgian capital Kakha Kaladze awarded honorable citizens of Tbilisi. The festive event took place in the courtyard of the Palace of State Ceremonies.

Writer Guram Dochanashvili and nine doctors fighting the pandemic were awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Tbilisi. Among doctors are Amiran Gamkrelidze, Paata Imnadze, Marina Endeladze, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, Marina Ezugbaia, Levan Gopodze, Levan Ratiani, Elza Vashakidze, Davit Gadelia.

The evening was dedicated to the memory of the deceased prominent Georgian composer Gia Kancheli. Immortal musical pieces by Kancheli were performed during the evening.

Evgeniy Mikeldze National Symphonic Orchestra and its Art Head Nikoloz Rachveli participated in the concert as well as singers Nani Bregvadze, Giorgi Tsagareli, Nato Metonidze, Liza Bagrationi, Eka Mamaladze, Georgian Six.

This year Tbilisoba Public Holiday was due to be entirely dedicated to the memory of Gia Kancheli but because of the worsened epidemiological situation, Tbilisi City Hall cancelled all celebrative activities expect an awarding ceremony of honorable citizens.
