Zurab Abashidze – At request of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Georgian air space will be used, as exception, for transferring Russian contingent
Zurab Abashidze, Special Representative of Georgian Prime Minister for Russian Relations said that at request of Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Georgian air space will be used, as an exception, for transferring the Russian contingent to Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Abashidze underlined that the decision was made upon the request of both Azerbaijan and Armenia for acuteness of the issue and establishment of peace.
As Abashidze clarified, the Russian peacekeeping contingent will be transferred to the disputed zone “under preliminarily determined period with use of Georgian air space” and that international partners of Georgia had already been informed about that.
“This is a determined period, short period, probably days that will be needed for transferring,” Abashidze claimed.
