Women peacekeepers in Afghanistan congratulated on March 8

Malkhaz Merlani, Colonel and Georgian Commander of the Georgian Armed Forces in Afghanistan congratulated the women soldiers serving in Resolute Support peacekeeping mission at Bagram airbase on Women’s International Day marked on March 8 and gave them presents.

According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, Georgian female soldiers are working at medical aid centers and at checkpoints.

The 4th Mechanized Brigade is serving the peacekeeping mission at Bagram airbase, while the 22nd battalion of the 2nd Infantry Brigade in Kabul since October of 2018.
