Shio III, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, blessed university applicants during a sermon at Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi (Sameba Cathedral), wishing them success in their upcoming entrance examinations.

“Dear university applicants, I bless you with great love. I wish you God’s assistance and success in your entrance exams. May you pass them successfully and be admitted to higher education institutions,” the Patriarch said.

He noted that this year’s university admissions coincide with the 1,700th anniversary of Christianity being declared the state religion in Georgia, marking what he described as a significant jubilee.

According to the Patriarch, applicants attending the service will receive special commemorative jubilee crosses as a blessing.

“On the occasion of this great anniversary, you will be presented with special jubilee crosses as a sign of our blessing. May they bring you God’s grace and protection.

May God bless and strengthen you.

God is with us,” he said during the sermon.
