WHO calls on countries to boost fight against the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19
The current Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said declaring the virus a pandemic does not mean countries to give up the fight against it. Ghebreyesus noted that “lightening the efforts is not right but dangerous.”
The Director-General of WHO said under the containment strategy, all countries must maintain a balance between health and human rights protection and prevention of economic and social problems.
The first deaths from the coronavirus were recorded in Poland, Austria and Algeria. Iran also reported 75 new cases of deaths. In China, only 15 individuals have infected with the novel virus in the last 24 hours, while 1318 recovered.
