Wheat culture, vintage, Meskhurian cuisine, Mtskheta pie making, Batonebi ritual, and Gelati Academy added to intangible cultural legacy
Georgian wheat culture, vintage tradition, Meskhurian cuisine, Mtskheturi pie-making tradition, nursery rituals performed in the treatment of infectious diseases (smallpox, measles), known as “Batonebi” in Georgian, and the Gelati Academy of Sciences tradition were all added to the list of intangible cultural heritage objects.
The Director of Georgia’s National Agency for Cultural Heritage Protection issued the order that was published in the Legislative Herald of Georgia and is enforced as of January 9.
