We must use every available means and resources to help Ukraine, Gen/Dir of Lithuanian Public Broadcaster says

The world shows an unprecedented level of unity in the face of the war that Russia has unleashed in Ukraine, said Director-General of the Lithuanian Public Broadcaster, Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė.

“The world shows an unprecedented level of unity in the face of the war that Russia has unleashed in Ukraine. It is the war against the entire civilized world, against humanity, against all of us. Ukraine and the Ukrainians are on the frontline because they stood up for the freedom to choose on that. Now they defend freedom for all of us.

We must use every available means and resources to help Ukraine to withstand and protect the most vulnerable – women, children, elderly – who found themselves trapped in shelters or have to flee. Every step and amount matters. The outcome of the struggle will shape the world we and our children will have to live,” she said.

GPB First Channel, together with the Red Cross, will hold a charity marathon ‘We for Ukraine’ to express support to the Ukrainian people and solidarity with Ukrainian Public Broadcaster.

GPB First Channel will provide a live broadcast of the event on March 1 at 10 pm.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) members initiated the said event.
