“We have so much to look back over for the last 30 years, and we are very excited about what is to come years ahead,” said US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Georgia-U.S. diplomatic relations.

“We are here today to mark 30 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Georgia. We are very, very proud of what the United States with Georgia has been able to accomplish over the last 30 years.

I see it everywhere I go when I travel around Georgia, in the schools that we built together through the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the products that farmers are growing and selling to new markets at higher prices, in the excellent performance of the coastguards, the border police, customs, the line force men and, of course, in the strong, strong cooperation that we have seen with the brave Georgian fence forces keeping Georgia safe and defending Georgia’s borders.

We are really thrilled to be looking forward to what is to come. We are honoured to have the Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and the Deputy Minister of USAID here with us today to mark this occasion. I think it is a sign of just how important Georgia is to the United States. We have so much to look back over for the last 30 years and we are very excited about what is to come years ahead,” US Ambassador said.
