Vice Speaker Volski says bail route is convenient for opposition as might be seen as opponents' persecution
“The bail route is convenient for opposition members because they believe it will be perceived as persecution of opponents; they might even invent some designation for themselves, like “persecuted politicians,” stated Parliament’s First Vice-Speaker Gia Volski.
According to Volski, those who paid bail think they will appear on the political stage as martyrs.
“There are two paths, as in fairy tales—this way or that way—and they choose the best option for themselves. Opposition members selected the option where they wouldn’t have obligations to answer quite serious questions. Facts exist, and they themselves know well what they have done and what they have committed,” the Vice Speaker said.
Volski argued that the opposition’s choice reflects a calculated political strategy.
“Naturally, the bail route is convenient for them because they think that under conditions of double standards, this will be considered political persecution of opponents, and they might even invent some title, like ‘persecuted politicians.’
Based on this, they chose the path they chose. However, we cannot say that those who paid bail are carriers of different ideas either. They think they will appear on the political stage as martyrs but still prefer not to answer questions,” Gia Volski stated.
