The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has released video footage in connection with the case involving Tamaz Elizbarashvili.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, at around 11:40 p.m. on August 30, Elizbarashvili and one of the victims accidentally encountered each other at a restaurant in Tbilisi. A verbal confrontation reportedly broke out over a comment Elizbarashvili had previously posted on social media concerning the individual and his family.

“During the verbal confrontation, Tamaz Elizbarashvili threatened the victim and the people accompanying him. In particular, he said that he would not leave the matter unresolved, would return in approximately 30 minutes, and told them not to leave the restaurant premises,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.

The victims left the restaurant to prevent the situation from escalating further.

At around 12:20 a.m. on August 31, Elizbarashvili returned to the scene allegedly intending to carry out the threat. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, he had his hand demonstratively placed inside his jacket.

“Elizbarashvili was armed and attempted to enter the restaurant. He continued threatening and verbally abusing the victims. Despite being prohibited from entering by security personnel, Tamaz Elizbarashvili nevertheless entered the restaurant premises. After making sure that the victims were no longer there, he left the area,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.

The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has charged Elizbarashvili with making threats.
