Vice Speaker Volski: Mission remains unchanged; opposition must unite to demonstrate that democracy and pluralism exist
“In the collective United National Movement, some believe that Saakashvili is the sole and irreplaceable figure,” said Gia Volski, the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.
He explained that some view Mikheil Saakashvili, with his past, as employing Gestapo-like tactics to diminish the number of voters.
“Some think it’s better to show the international community that differing opinions and confrontation exist within our society. Others believe they should support those who threaten their enemies. There are also orthodox UNM-ists who regard Saakashvili as the Washington of the East, as he himself claims.
Despite these sarcastic views, we must remember that the task remains the same, and the instruction is clear: to unite and demonstrate to the public that democracy and pluralism are alive and well here,” he concluded.
