Vice Speaker Volski: Georgian government did everything possible to keep electricity tariffs fair for public
“Tariff discussions are a fertile ground for political debate and confrontation. Throughout this period, the Georgian government has done everything possible to ensure that electricity tariffs remain as favourable as possible for the public,” stated Gia Volski, the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.
He added that even much more powerful nations than Georgia lack the authority to make significant changes to tariffs.
“Globally, complex and challenging processes are unfolding, and in many cases, neither the Georgian authorities nor even stronger states possess the power to alter tariff structures significantly,” Volski explained.
For the record, the electricity consumer tariff has increased by five tetri.
