Vice Speaker: UNM’s destabilization drive is matter of dignity as they lose elections, have nothing else to offer
“There are many versions of the opposition’s stance regarding the elections, but none of them demonstrate the sophistication or political wisdom of any party,” said Gia Volski, First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament.
According to Volski, the United National Movement views their destabilisation efforts as a matter of dignity, as they are losing in every election scenario. Beyond destruction, they have nothing to offer their voters.
“Their main goal is to bring chaos to Georgia, which has already become evident. Of course, they oppose any political entity participating in the elections. The European Parliament resolution encourages not to recognise the elections, which is absurd. Simultaneously, they call on all to participate. Both have incentives—it’s a matter of who will come out ahead and who will play the puppet role better. The attack comes from two fronts. Khazaradze refused to enter Parliament, believing a revolutionary process was inevitable. The UNM rejected the Charles Michel agreement, thinking that a revolution and destruction were imminent. They refused to honour their commitments to the people, but since bloodshed did not occur in Georgia, Lelo chose the mantle of politician over that of revolutionary,” Gia Volski concluded.
