US Ambassador – It is promising and welcoming that many parties signed Rules for Political Conduct

I hope that 2020 parliamentary elections will be fair, free and will be held without major violations. This would be impressive for Georgia – Kelly Degnan, US Ambassador to Georgia said during the presentation of “Election Compass – Georgia” and Partiebi.Ge.

According to US Ambassador, the new portal will help voters in becoming introduced with visions of different political parties.

“This is an important tool. Seventeen parties are participating in this project. Their viewpoints about different issues, which are priorities for their voters, are already provided in this application. The voters can open the application and become introduced with them,” Degnan said.

US Ambassador to Georgia said it was welcoming that many parties signed Rules for Political Conduct. She said that it was normal that political situation was getting tenser as Election Day was drawing closer.

“Georgian political leaders are working together to agree upon ethic guidelines and structure. It will be regrettable if we notice facts of pressure, misuse of administrative resources and cases of voters’ bribing. Non-governmental organizations should have reports about such facts. I hope that 2020 elections will be fair, free and will be held without violations. This would be impressive for Georgia,” Degnan said.
