Unity-National Movement's Tsitlidze urges Gakharia to clarify his political stance
Ana Tsitlidze, a member of the Unity-National Movement, criticized Giorgi Gakharia’s party for its lack of a definitive position regarding its status in parliament. Speaking on “Topic of the Day” on GPB First Channel, she stated that their stance remains speculative, casting doubts among the Georgian public.
According to Tsitlidze, Gakharia must finally clarify his political position.
“Does he aspire to be a genuine pro-Western opposition leader fighting for Georgia’s European future, or does he prefer to function as an ambiguous extension of the Georgian Dream—neither fully in opposition nor aligned with them? The citizens of Georgia will not tolerate indecisiveness or political duplicity at this critical juncture,” she asserted.
She also emphasized that, for her and her party, Gakharia has never been a credible political authority, describing him as “the architect of June 20.”
Tsitlidze further claimed that Gakharia’s previous appointments as Prime Minister and Interior Minister were orchestrated from Moscow, where he had previously worked.
“His departure from the Georgian Dream was not rooted in ideological differences but stemmed from a personal conflict with Irakli Garibashvili and Irakli Kobakhidze,” she added.
