PM: Strategic partnership with Kazakhstan represents significant milestone in bilateral relations

“I would like to express my appreciation for your leadership and vision, which have guided Kazakhstan’s continued progress and strengthened its standing as an influential and respected partner both in the region and beyond,” Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said while addressing President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during an extended-format meeting.

According to Kobakhidze, he is confident that the reforms implemented under President Tokayev’s leadership will further strengthen Kazakhstan’s development and institutional stability.

I would like to use this opportunity to congratulate you on the constitutional reform and on the referendum. I am confident that the reforms carried forward under your leadership will further reinforce Kazakhstan’s development and its institutional resilience. It is a very important reform, and again, congratulations on this achievement.

The declaration of a strategic partnership represents a significant milestone in our bilateral relations, and I am confident that this important step will open new opportunities for broadening cooperation between our countries across a wide range of areas. I would like to thank you for signing this declaration of strategic partnership alongside us.

We highly value our close partnership with Kazakhstan, and we remain committed to maintaining an active political dialogue at all levels. The regular exchange of high-level visits is very important in this respect. I would like to once again reiterate that you are very welcome in Georgia, and we are highly hopeful that we will be able to host you in our country for the next meeting.

I would also like to use this opportunity to thank Kazakhstan for supporting our sovereignty and territorial integrity. This support plays a very special role for us. We closely follow the developments taking place in Kazakhstan and sincerely welcome your country’s achievements in both domestic and foreign policy, particularly as Kazakhstan prepares for the Kurultai elections in August.
