UNM’s Tsitlidze: Chergoleishvili's message box aligns with SSSG's message box; we categorically deny any connection or involvement of Bacho Akhalaia in October 4 case

“‘What did the fence need’ and so forth, I cannot enter into any conspiracy theory. My position regarding all of this is singular: that on October 4, Georgian citizens were acting within the constitutional framework against an illegitimate Russian occupation regime,” declared Ana Tsitlidze, member of the United National Movement.

According to Tsitlidze, “we’ve seen the regime’s provocations many times before, and there’s nothing new in this.”

“The State Security Service (SSSG) could well have had its own interests there, and accordingly, we’ve seen the regime’s provocations many times; there’s nothing new in this. The main point on October 4 was that hundreds of thousands of Georgian citizens who took to the streets told the Russian occupation regime once again that they do not recognise them as a legitimate authority, and that society envisages the struggle for freedom precisely through peaceful revolutionary change,” noted Ana Tsitlidze.

Ana Tsitlidze says she categorically denies any connection or involvement of the United National Movement with Bacho Akhalaia in relation to the October 4 case.

“This is information that we categorically deny. Regrettably, Tamar Chergoleishvili’s message box aligns with the State Security Service’s message box, which is precisely trying to develop this narrative. They are attempting to link Bacho Akhalaia to October 4 in some way, aiming to create an additional conspiracy theory and generate further ‘noise’ around the issue. Why Tamar Chergoleishvili is doing this, let society draw its own conclusions. What I can tell you on behalf of the United National Movement is that we categorically deny any connection or involvement of Bacho Akhalaia in relation to the October 4 case,” Ana Tsitlidze declared.

The leader of the Federalists Party, Tamar Chergoleishvili, stated that meetings were being held at Bacho Akhalaia’s house in relation to October 4, and that this fact became the cause of confrontation within the United National Movement.
