UNM's Pavlenishvili: We have no intention of leaving Opposition Alliance in near future, despite our differing views on some issues
“We are not leaving the Opposition Alliance; no one has said that we would,” stated Irakli Pavlenishvili, a member of the United National Movement party.
He also emphasised that it was evident from Mikheil Saakashvili’s remarks that there is no intention to withdraw from the alliance.
“As for specific issues, we have maintained a clear and firm position, and we have expressed it openly. We have no plans to leave the alliance. This is Mikheil Saakashvili’s stance, and it is the party’s position. Having differing opinions does not mean we should abandon the alliance.
We are a large party. Within it, members may hold a variety of views, but a unified stance is formed through consensus. Currently, and for the foreseeable future, there is a consensus that we do not plan to leave the alliance. Asking whether we might do so in the long run is premature; at this moment, and in the near future, we have no intention of leaving. Although we indeed have different opinions on some issues, that much is evident and openly acknowledged,” Pavlenishvili explained.
