UNM's Khabeishvili: No step back, those new to opposition can’t discredit UNM
After the United National Movement Political Council meeting, Chairman of the Political Council Levan Khabeishvili announced that the party has made a strategic decision: No step back with anyone.
“If someone seeks unity, we are ready. Our country is worth saving, and we are open to any discussion where real unity is achieved,” Khabeishvili stated.
He emphasized that the party has long advocated for unity, despite ongoing attacks from certain political groups.
“Our stance is clear—no step back. All so-called opposition figures will be responded for their actions. Before criticizing the UNM, they should reflect on their own actions,” he said.
Khabeishvili also outlined the party’s upcoming political strategy, shifting from a defensive to an offensive approach. He announced that the second phase of protests will begin in the spring, with active participation in cities and regions, particularly in Tbilisi.
“We love our country, and it must be saved. We are ready for discussions that lead to real unity—not just empty gestures. For 13 years, we have endured everything, while some who have been in opposition for barely two days think they can throw mud at us. That won’t work!” Khabeishvili asserted.
