UNM's Khabeishvili: Ivanishvili seeks Moscow's orders to prosecute Partskhaladze, will sacrifice Gomelauri and Liluashvili to shift blame

“Ivanishvili awaits Moscow’s orders to formally prosecute Partskhaladze, but to lighten his own responsibility, he stands ready to sacrifice Gomelauri and Liluashvili as well,” the Chairman of the United National Movement’s Political Council, Levan Khabeishvili, wrote on social media.

According to him, Bidzina Ivanishvili is conducting negotiations with the Russian side regarding the murder of a businessman, Levan Jangveladze, who was shot dead on March 14, 2025, in Tbilisi, to launch a probe against Otar Partskhaladze, a former Prosecutor General of Georgia.

“Ivanishvili is currently negotiating with Russian authorities to pursue charges against Partskhaladze in connection with Levan Jangveladze’s murder. Clearly, he cannot decide without his masters and is therefore awaiting confirmation. The proceedings will be formal, and, obviously, no one will extradite Romanov [implying Otar Partskhaladze]. In return, Ivanishvili will send a ‘message’ to the victim’s family that he is doing everything to punish the killers, those who ordered it, and those who carried it out. Ivanishvili is prepared to sacrifice Liluashvili and Gomelauri to cover up, facilitate, and justify inaction in this case. Besides Partskhaladze, at least one more high-ranking official is needed with whom the case was ‘solved’. Ivanishvili will wash his hands on Grigol Liluashvili. Due to several of my public statements, Juansher [Burchuladze], Garibashvili, and Liluashvili have avoided prison (temporarily).

The authorities don’t want any more major ‘coincidences.’ What are you to do, Grigol?! You’ll get a few more weeks of freedom as a gift. After this statement, no one will touch you for a little while. You can secretly send me a thank-you letter by post,” writes Khabeishvili.
