UNM's Irakli Pavlenishvili: Part of opposition parties prefer to be systemic instead of real
“We announced that those people who betray the protest wave go not against Kotsis (supporters of the Georgian Dream) but their voters,” said Irakli Pavlenishvili, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) party.
According to Pavlenishvili, these parties are in a state of self-destruction.
“Speaking about a neutral candidate is not interesting for us. These people were entering an inadequate and self-destructive process, and this was obvious. Rustaveli Movement is the organizer of this activity and we are in full solidarity, since we believe that without a peaceful revolution, nothing will change in this country.
Seizing Tbilisi and this strategy seems inadequate and ironic for the majority, for whom elections are cancelled. These people attempt to be Ivanishvili’s systemic opposition. When there are no institutions in the country, elections are cancelled and dictatorship is established, there is no alternative for peaceful protest. Everyone acknowledges this except for those opposition parties which have made no efforts for this. They prefer to be the systemic opposition instead of real, and this is linked to more risk and threat,” Pavlenishvili said.
