“Unfortunately, there is no unified position on the issues. We must not waste time on utopian and unrealistic matters. Our struggle should continue not with false expectations, but with our political and party platform,” stated Tina Bokuchava, chairperson of the United National Movement.
Bokuchava made this statement following a meeting between former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili and opposition representatives.
“My only purpose in coming here today was to convey a message from the families of political prisoners. They have specific expectations regarding local self-governance, opposition unity, and the future development of protests, including regional outreach,” Bokuchava said.
She added: “Unfortunately, we see that there is no unified position on any of these issues. Today, when the regime is starting a new wave of repression and directly announces the banning of political parties, I believe time is most precious and should not be wasted on utopian and unrealistic issues. Therefore, we must continue our struggle not with false expectations, but with our political and party platform.”
