Tina Bokuchava, Chairperson of the United National Movement, met with Odra Plepitė, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The UNM’s press service has shared details of the meeting.

“Zurab Chiaberashvili and I have just concluded a discussion with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, during which we emphasised the urgent need for the European Union to adopt a sanctions policy. This should include immediate restrictions on visa-free travel for Ivanishvili, his entourage, propagandists, and those responsible for misconduct. We are actively engaging on this issue, having already held several meetings across European capitals, to prevent Georgian citizens from losing visa-free travel, a threat that Ivanishvili has very plausibly raised. Conversely, it is Ivanishvili and his associates who should be deprived of visa-free travel.

A Foreign Affairs Committee and a ministerial meeting of EU countries is scheduled for October 20, and we are confident that this issue, along with other sanctions measures, will be on the agenda. Our goal is to ensure that the European Union continues to support the Georgian people’s aspirations for integration with Europe,” stated Tina Bokuchava.
