UNM Chair regrets Gakharia’s failure to sever ties with Ivanishvili as Lelo joins “Russian special operation”

“Participation in the Russian special operation will never benefit either the country or the political parties collaborating with it, and this should have been clear to both Lelo and Gakharia,” Tina Bokuchava, Chair of the United National Movement (UNM), stated.

Bokuchava expressed her regret that Giorgi Gakharia has not cut ties with Bidzina Ivanishvili, while Lelo has become involved in the Russian special operation [implying participation in the 2025 local government elections].

“I’ve long suspected Gakharia of not cutting ties with Ivanishvili and acting accordingly. As for Lelo, I have repeatedly expressed my serious disappointment and concern over their involvement in a Russian special operation,” she added.
