The Tbilisi State Medical University officially opened its University Clinic for Mental Health in Tbilisi.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, highlighted the importance of expanding access to mental health services. He noted that the new clinic will play a key role in delivering quality care to patients and strengthening medical education.
The event was also addressed by Givi Mikanadze, Minister of Education, Science and Youth, and Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of the university.
According to information shared at the ceremony, the clinic brings together more than 100 specialists from various fields and is designed to provide patient-centered, integrated and comprehensive mental health services.
The Ministry of Health of Georgia stated that, in its initial phase, the clinic will offer outpatient services, while the licensing process for inpatient care is currently underway.
The opening ceremony was attended by members of the university administration, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, as well as heads of partner clinics.
