“Sanctions will continue both at the international organizational level and on a national scale. We will be actively working on that,” said Khatia Dekanoidze, a member of the Unity-National Movement unity.
According to Dekanoidze, the imposition of sanctions indicates that the Georgian Dream government lacks legitimacy.
“Sanctions are significant. They signify that nobody recognizes the legitimacy of the Georgian Dream’s government, and thus, the party is devoid of legitimacy. Furthermore, this means that sanctions will continue to expand both internationally and nationally. We will be working diligently in this regard. Not a single individual should benefit from welfare provided by the West, which is restricted for these young people; the regime must understand that,” she stated.
The European Council has decided to suspend visa-free travel for holders of Georgian diplomatic passports following discussions at a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Brussels on Monday, as reported by Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
