Georgian Education Minister hosted by Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers

The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, was hosted by Batyr Mammedov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, for high-level bilateral talks.

According to the Ministry of Education, the two dignitaries discussed measures to deepen cooperation in education and scientific research between their respective nations. The parties also highlighted the positive trajectory and momentum in the Georgia–Turkmenistan partnership.

During the meeting, Mikanadze briefed the Turkmen Deputy Chairman on ongoing reforms in Georgia’s educational system and outlined key strategic initiatives currently in development.

Discussions focused on strengthening inter-university partnerships, implementing joint educational projects for students, and organising bilateral youth camps designed to foster closer cultural and youth ties between the two countries.

Both parties emphasised the importance of establishing a dedicated joint working group to drive partnership goals forward and explore bilateral initiatives in greater depth. It was noted that the inaugural meeting of the working group will take place in Turkmenistan during the official visit of the Georgian Minister and his delegation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Batyr Mammedov thanked Givi Mikanadze for the fruitful dialogue and expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to execute joint initiatives alongside its Georgian partners.

The delegation accompanying the Minister included Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth Zviad Gabisonia, Turkmen Minister of Education Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, and the Ambassador of Georgia to Turkmenistan, Konstantine Sabiashvili.
