UN Security Council voted against Russian-proposed resolution

The United Nations Security Council blocked the Russian-proposed resolution regarding Kerch Strait developments.

Seven members, including the US, voted against the document.

Security Council has held an emergency meeting over above-mentioned escalations. Council has been summoned by the request of Ukraine and Russia.

Permanent members of the Council – France, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Great Britain called on Russia to release the detained Ukrainian sailors.

Countries expressed concern over Kerch Strait developments.
